Arrowsmith Winery Inc. of 37 Industrial Way, Suite 104, Buellton, California 93427 is responsible for the personal information collected through arrowsmithwinery.com. This policy sets out what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
Information you send us. If you email or call us about our wines, the wine club or anything else, we receive your email address or telephone number, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to tell us.
The contact form. If you write to us through the form on our contact page we receive your name, your email address, the subject you select and your message. It is sent to us by email and kept with our ordinary correspondence.
Server logs. Our web host records standard information about every visit: IP address, date and time, pages requested, the referring page and the browser used. This is generated automatically and is used to keep the site running and secure.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: which pages are read, how visitors arrive, and the country and region a visit comes from. It sets cookies on your device and sends that information to Google, which processes it on our behalf. We have not switched on Google’s advertising features and we do not use analytics to identify anyone personally. You can stop Google Analytics collecting anything at all by installing Google’s browser opt-out add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Cookies. Besides the analytics cookies described above, our shop and wine club set cookies that are necessary to make ordering work, such as remembering your basket and keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies. You can delete cookies in your browser at any time, and if what we use changes this policy will be updated first.
Orders and wine club membership. When you buy wine or join the club we collect your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, telephone number, date of birth or age confirmation, order history and club preferences. This is collected and held on our behalf by Commerce7, the platform that runs our shop. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are never seen or stored by us.
Why we use it
We use this information to reply to enquiries, to run the wine club and fulfil orders you place with us, to understand how the site is used, to keep the site secure, and to meet the record-keeping obligations that apply to a licensed alcoholic beverage business in California.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with the suppliers who make the site and the business work: our web host, our email provider, Google, which provides the analytics described above, Commerce7 which runs our shop and wine club, the payment provider that processes card payments, and the carrier delivering your wine. Each handles it on our behalf. We will also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept while the enquiry is live and for as long afterwards as is useful for our records. Analytics data is held by Google for the retention period set in our account, after which it is deleted automatically. Records relating to the sale of alcohol are kept for the period our licences require.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. California residents have these rights under state law, and we will honour the same requests from anyone who makes them, whether or not the statutory thresholds apply to a business of our size. We will not treat you differently for exercising them. Write to the address below and we will respond as promptly as we can.
Age
This site is for people aged 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 21, and we will delete it if we find that we have.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection and we take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes
Any change to this policy will be published on this page, with the date above updated.
